The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, in partnership with The Kings Office, is currently hosting Umkhosi Wesivivane in celebration of Women’s Day.

During his Umkhosi Wesivivane address His Majesty King Misuzulu expressed his joy at how Mpakamo community carried themselves with dignity and extended a warm welcome to all visitors. He also reflected on how the royal ceremonies such as Umkhosi Womhlanga were revived in 1984, sparked by a rise in teenage pregnancies. His parents’ vision was to gather women and empower them, and guide the younger generation through culture, wisdom, and unity.
