The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Mntomuhle Khawula in partnership with eThekwini Mayor Cllr Cyril Xaba hosted Maidens Conference at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu north of Durban.
On behalf of Zulu Royal House Queen Ndlovu of KwaLinduzulu Palace warned matrons against alcohol abuse as that compromise their responsibility.
Queen Ndlovu also warned those who are in same sex relationships to stay away from izintombi. She concluded by suggesting that pregnancy test be done to all maidens before they board a bus to this year’s Annual Reed Ceremony.
Maidens from eThekwini also got advise on the protocols of Umkhosi Womhlanga.
