Siyabonga Sangweni Sport Complex Handover

KZN Department of Sport, Arts and Culture undertook to pay a befitting tribute to Siyabonga Sangweni of the Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana fame by building and naming an iconic sport complex after him, right in his home village of Dondotha near Empangeni on the north where he remains an idolised hero and role model.

KwaDukuza Museum positioned to deepen heritage.

International Museums Day has stirred excitement as MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba handed the KwaDukuza Museum over to the KwaDukuza community. It is located in the town steeped in the history of the Zulu and Indian people

2024 Multi Genre Music Festival

The KZN Department of Sport, Arts and Culture led by MEC, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba, brought Newcastle to a standstill over the Easter weekend with the hosting of the annual Multi Genre Music Festival, previously known as KwaZulu-Natal Cultural and Heritage Experience.

National Golden Games

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba has showered praises on the Province’s senior citizens sports team after they were crowned champions at the 2024 National Golden Games which were held in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga Province on 20 to 22 March 2024.

Bhekizizwe Joseph Shabalala Marathon

The Bhekizizwe Joseph Shabalala Marathon is in its second offering, is part of a series of projects held in honour of Dr Bhekizizwe Joseph Shabalala, the celebrated leader and founder of the Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Library Contractor Handover

Hundreds of young people in Sankontshe, Ward 5 outside Hammaradsale west Durban today scored a huge victory again illiteracy and lack of educational and knowledge facilities as they welcomed the construction of a new R4,7 million modular library.

KZN-DSAC Sport Scholarship 2024

The KZN Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is making available a limited number of Sport Scholarships to talented athletes for the 2024 academic year. The Sport Scholarship is open to athletes for all sixteen (16) priority sporting codes and people with disabilities are also encouraged to apply.

Commemoration of the Battle of Isandlwana

KWAZULU-NATAL Provincial Government led by Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube will, this weekend, join His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini in commemorating 145 years of the Battle of Isandlwana where the Zulu army scored a decisive military victory against the British Army during Impi yase Sandlwana.

2023 KZN Disability Games

The 2023 Provincial Disability Games was hosted successfully in various venues around Durban on Saturday, 11 November. The programme enables persons with disabilities to participate in competitive sporting activities.
